At 50 Hudson Yards, an office skyscraper designed by Foster + Partners, DBA was appointed to lead a team in the build-out of a 32nd floor amenity space for tenants. The Sky Loft — designed as a luxurious yet comfortable “garden in the sky” — features a café lounge and community hub with flexible event spaces. DBA integrated the design elements with the operational infrastructure, developed construction documents, designed back-of-house spaces including a large kitchen and service bar, and seamlessly coordinated project delivery.
In order to enable the leasing of different areas for specific events and functions, DBA designed a series of interconnected spaces that can be reconfigured in various ways, by deploying artfully concealed sliding panels when needed. This adaptability means the Sky Loft is able to accommodate diverse activities, sustaining the dynamism of the building and its community.

The “boardroom” space, which can be used for meetings and conferences, incorporates an expanse of custom gold and white hand-painted wallcovering by luxury brand de Gournay, alongside a custom ventless fireplace by HearthCabinet within a surround of Calacatta Arni Viola marble. DBA deftly integrated a full AV program that is perfectly concealed until needed.
