MICHELIN STARS
For this Michelin-starred Korean restaurant and bar, DBA worked closely with chef Brian Kim and interior designer AvroKO to deliver an immersive experience for diners that drew on Korean cultural heritage. The 5000-square-foot restaurant is designed to recall a hanok — a traditional Korean home — and is accompanied by a 1,600-square-foot open kitchen. As executive architect, DBA assembled and led the team of consultants, coordinating the project successfully during a global pandemic.
Materials were selected in a way to create harmony between eastern and western traditions without delving into historicism or mimicry. The warm tones of the wooden floor and beams, teal and coral leather banquettes, custom light fixtures with a nod to paper lanterns, green veined Calacatta marble bar, brass touchpoints and hardware throughout create a sense of luxurious comfort and ease.

The restaurant was delivered as beautifully as it was imagined.

DBA genuinely took ownership of the project. It’s their dedication, hard work and proper guidance that got us through. We are looking forward to more partnerships with DBA in the future.
